Brett Armstrong, PGA Director of Golf, PGA Member

Brett joined the Half Moon Bay Golf Links professional staff in 2005. He grew up playing golf with his dad and quickly fell in love with the game. Brett played varsity golf all four years in High School and was the MVP of his high school team all four years. Brett went on to receive a golf scholarship to UC Santa Barbara and graduated in 2003. Brett earned his certification in General Management through the Certified PGA Professional Program in 2016. Brett is also a member of the Club Managers Association of America. Brett has a passion for education and is always striving to become a better PGA Professional through education and working with the team at Half Moon Bay Golf Links.

Anthony Maestrini, PGA First Assistant Golf Professional, PGA Member

Anthony joined the Half Moon Bay professional staff in 2008. He is a graduate of Menlo College and played competitive college golf for Menlo College from 2003-2005. In 2014 Anthony earned his PGA Class A Membership. Anthony has led several junior golf programs including PGA Junior League and The Boys and Girls Club junior golf programs. Anthony was also a member of the Northern California PGA Junior Golf Committee. Anthony has extensive experience teaching short game clinics and providing on-course playing lessons. His patience and simple approach to teaching allows his students to understand how to become better players and enjoy golf to the fullest.

John O’Leary, PGA Associate Golf Professional

John O'Leary, a San Mateo native and graduate of Sacramento State University, learned the game of golf at a very young age. After developing his own game through the tutelage of several other local teaching professionals, he has gone on to compete in several local events including PGA Monday qualifiers and US open qualifiers. John considers himself a true student of the game and is a big believer and practitioner of the basic fundamentals of golf. Whether doing corporate clinics or private lessons, he puts a heavy emphasis on getting the golfer set up properly and studying divot patterns in order to minimize swing flaws and get students games headed in the right direction.

Arron Paulino, PGA Associate Golf Professional

Arron Paulino is a Bay Area native and a PGA Associate who graduated from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in the spring of 2016. In the fall of 2012, Arron was awarded the PGA Diversity Inclusion Scholarship to help fund his dream of pursuing a career in the golf industry. Arron’s passion to help others enjoy the game of golf comes from his experiences through the PGA Golf Management program and his participation as a junior in The First Tee of San Francisco during his youth years. Arron really highlights his teaching around having fun with the game and helping his students understand that the basic fundamentals of the golf swing lead to building success for the swing as a whole. He continues to learn more about sharpening his knowledge of the game and enjoys displaying his enthusiastic attitude towards his students.

Miranda Wiss, PGA Associate Golf Professional

Miranda is from Pacifica, CA and has been playing golf since the age of five. She attended Mercy High School in Burlingame, CA where she was MVP of the golf team and played in the Central Coast Section Championships all four years. During her time on the golf team at Mercy she assisted with the development of some of the newer golfers on the team. In addition to playing golf in high school, she played in numerous junior golf tournaments and went on to play collegiately in 2014. She has facilitated several junior golf programs as well as women’s clinics over the years.

Darren Wall, PGA Associate Golf Professional

Darren attended the Golf Academy of America in Carlsbad, CA from 2012 to 2013. Before working at Half Moon Bay Golf Links, Darren worked at numerous high end facilities such as Cordevalle, Pebble Beach, and The Grand Del Mar. He assisted with lessons and clinics at The Grand Del Mar alongside Dave Pelz. Darren has assisted in teaching corporate and casual clinics here at Half Moon Bay Golf Links as well as individual lessons.

Zac Casey, PGA Associate Golf Professional

Zac is from New Jersey and joined the Half Moon Bay professional staff in June of 2018. He didn’t begin playing golf until he was in high school, but quickly fell in love with the game. In 2016, Zac graduated from Clemson University in South Carolina where he double majored in Business Management and Hospitality/Tourism Management. During his time at Clemson, he also completed the PGA Golf Management Program and earned his PGA Class A Membership in 2016. After graduation, Zac moved down to Southern California and worked as an Assistant Golf Professional and Tournament Coordinator at PGA West Private for 3 seasons. Zac is very passionate about making sure students are having fun while they progress in the game of golf, he and enjoys teaching golfers of all skill levels.
